 ITL 502 Multi-Disciplinary Perspectives in Italian Language Teaching

7-11 July 2025

 Instructor: Flavia Laviosa (Wellesley College)

  

This 1-week seminar offers professional development for teachers of Italian. Composed of 30 academic hours, the seminar helps participants improve their teaching strategies through the study of innovative approaches to language and culture instruction and creative ways to tackle students’ learning problems. The seminar covers theory and practice in the following areas of psychology and methodology in language teaching: Motivating students; Creativity in the language classroom; Social and emotional learning; Intercultural competence; How to avoid stress and fatigue in teaching.

 

Participants can select to complete the seminar requirements for 2 graduate credits (awarded by The American University of Rome).  

 

All seminar activities are conducted in Italian.
