1. Finalità

L’Associazione Canadese di Studi Italiani (ACSI) apre ufficialmente il processo di candidatura per le elezioni del Comitato Esecutivo 2026.

Il presente bando definisce i requisiti di eleggibilità, le cariche aperte, nonché le procedure di candidatura e di voto, in conformità con lo Statuto dell’ACSI.

2. Requisiti di eleggibilità

Possono candidarsi alle elezioni esclusivamente i membri ACSI in regola, con la quota associativa regolarmente versata nell’anno solare precedente alle elezioni e al momento dell’apertura delle candidature.

Lo status di membro in regola deve essere mantenuto per l’intera durata del processo elettorale.

3. Cariche aperte e durata del mandato

Per il ciclo elettorale 2026 sono aperte le seguenti cariche del Comitato Esecutivo ACSI:

• Presidente
• Vicepresidente
• Segretario/a (eletto/a in conformità con il sistema di elezioni scaglionate stabilito
• dall’Articolo V.1.c dello Statuto ACSI)

Ciascuna delle cariche sopra indicate prevede un mandato di tre anni.

Le cariche di Tesoriere e di Rappresentante degli Studenti Laureati non sono aperte alle elezioni in questo ciclo, in conformità con le disposizioni statutarie relative ai mandati scaglionati.

4. Procedura di candidatura

Il Segretario inviterà formalmente i membri ACSI a presentare candidature per le cariche aperte.

Ogni candidato/a sarà contattato/a per confermare l’accettazione della candidatura.

I/le candidati/e possono richiedere di essere informati dei nomi degli altri candidati per la stessa carica prima di accettare formalmente la candidatura.

Per ciascuna carica, il Segretario inserirà nella scheda elettorale fino a tre (e non più di tre) candidati che abbiano ricevuto il maggior numero di segnalazioni. In caso di parità nel numero di candidature, Presidente, Vicepresidente e Segretario risolveranno la parità mediante una votazione interna.

I/le candidati/e inclusi nella scheda elettorale dovranno presentare un breve profilo accademico (75–100 parole).

I/le candidati/e alla carica di Presidente dovranno inoltre presentare una dichiarazione programmatica di massimo 100 parole.

Tali materiali saranno distribuiti ai membri insieme alla scheda elettorale, in conformità con l’Articolo V.1.b dello Statuto ACSI.

5. Procedura di voto

Tutti i membri in regola nell’anno solare precedente alle elezioni e al momento di avvio del processo di candidatura hanno diritto di voto.

Ogni membro ha diritto a un solo voto; il voto per delega non è consentito.

In caso di parità nei risultati finali, saranno sommati il numero totale dei voti ricevuti e quello delle candidature ottenute; sarà eletto/a il/la candidato/a con il totale più alto.

Qualora la parità persista, la decisione sarà presa da Presidente, Vicepresidente e Segretario mediante votazione interna.

I risultati delle elezioni saranno comunicati ai/alle candidati/e e presentati durante l’Assemblea Generale Annuale dei Membri (AGM).

6. Scadenze e presentazione delle candidature

Le candidature devono essere inviate via email al Segretario dell’ACSI, all’indirizzo di posta elettronica sau.andrea@gmail.com. Le scadenze ufficiali sono le seguenti:

Scadenza per la presentazione delle candidature: 15 febbraio 2026
Scadenza per il voto: 15 marzo 2026

Annuncio ufficiale dei risultati: durante l’Assemblea Generale Annuale (AGM) che si terrà nel corso della conferenza di Vancouver (maggio 2026) e tramite i canali ufficiali dell’Associazione (newsletter, Facebook e Instagram).

Tutte le date possono essere modificate dal Comitato Esecutivo in caso di circostanze impreviste.

ENGLISH VERSION

1. Purpose

The Canadian Association for Italian Studies (CAIS) hereby officially opens the nomination process for the 2026 Executive elections. This call outlines eligibility requirements, open positions, and nomination and voting procedures, in accordance with the CAIS Constitution.

2. Eligibility Requirements

Only CAIS members in good standing, with membership fees duly paid in the calendar year preceding the elections and at the time nominations open, are eligible to stand for election.

Membership in good standing must be maintained throughout the entire electoral process.

3. Open Positions and Terms of Office

For the 2026 election cycle, the following CAIS Executive positions are open:

• President
• Vice-President
• Secretary (elected in accordance with the staggered election cycle established by Article V.1.c of the CAIS Constitution)

Each of the above positions carries a three-year term.

The positions of Treasurer and Graduate Student Representative are not open for election in this cycle, in accordance with the staggered terms and election provisions of the CAIS Constitution.

4. Nomination Procedure

The Secretary shall formally invite CAIS members to submit nominations for the open positions.

Each nominee will be contacted to confirm acceptance of the nomination.

Nominees may request to be informed of the names of other nominees for the same position prior to formally accepting the nomination.

For each position, the Secretary shall place on the ballot up to three (and no more than three) candidates who have received the highest number of nominations.

In the event of a tie in the number of nominations, the President, Vice-President, and Secretary shall resolve the tie through an internal vote.

Candidates whose names appear on the ballot will be required to submit a brief academic CV synopsis (75–100 words).

Candidates for the position of President will also be required to submit a statement not exceeding 100 words.

These materials will be circulated to the membership with the ballot, in accordance with Article V.1.b of the CAIS Constitution.

5. Voting Procedure

All members in good standing in the calendar year prior to the elections and by the time the nominating process begins, shall be eligible to vote.

Each member is entitled to one vote only; proxy voting is not permitted.

In the event of a tie in the final results, the total number of votes received, and nominations obtained shall be combined; the candidate with the highest total shall be elected.

Should a tie persist, the decision shall be made by the President, Vice-President, and Secretary through an internal vote.

Election results will be communicated to candidates and presented at the Annual General Meeting (AGM).

6. Deadlines and Submission of Nominations

Nominations must be submitted by email to the CAIS Secretary at sau.andrea@gmail.com. The official deadlines are as follows:

Deadline for submission of nominations: February 15, 2026
Deadline for voting: March 15, 2026

Official announcement of results: at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) held during the Vancouver conference (May 2026), and through the Association’s official channels (newsletter, Facebook, and Instagram).

All dates are subject to adjustment by the Executive in case of unforeseen circumstances.

1. Objectif

L’Association canadienne des études italiennes (ACEI) ouvre officiellement le processus de candidature pour les élections du Comité exécutif 2026.

Le présent appel précise les conditions d’éligibilité, les postes ouverts ainsi que les procédures de candidature et de vote, conformément aux Statuts de l’ACEI.

2. Conditions d’éligibilité

Seuls les membres de l’ACEI en règle, ayant acquitté leur cotisation pour l’année civile précédant les élections et au moment de l’ouverture des candidatures, sont éligibles.

Le statut de membre en règle doit être maintenu pendant toute la durée du processus électoral.

3. Postes ouverts et durée des mandats

Pour le cycle électoral 2026, les postes suivants du Comité exécutif de l’ACEI sont ouverts :

• Président(e)
• Vice-président(e)
• Secrétaire (élu(e) conformément au système d’élections échelonnées établi à l’article V.1.c des Statuts de l’ACEI)

Chacun des postes susmentionnés est assorti d’un mandat de trois ans.

Les postes de Trésorier(ère) et de Représentant(e) des étudiant(e)s diplômé(e)s ne sont pas ouverts aux élections lors de ce cycle, conformément aux dispositions statutaires relatives aux mandats échelonnés.

4. Procédure de candidature

Le Secrétaire invitera formellement les membres de l’ACEI à soumettre des candidatures pour les postes ouverts.

Chaque candidat(e) sera contacté(e) afin de confirmer l’acceptation de sa candidature.

Les candidat(e)s peuvent demander à être informé(e)s des noms des autres candidat(e)s au même poste avant d’accepter formellement leur candidature.

Pour chaque poste, le Secrétaire inscrira sur le bulletin de vote jusqu’à trois (et pas plus de trois) candidat(e)s ayant reçu le plus grand nombre de mises en candidature.

En cas d’égalité dans le nombre de mises en candidature, le/la Président(e), le/la Vice-président(e) et le Secrétaire trancheront par un vote interne.

Les candidat(e)s dont le nom figure sur le bulletin de vote devront soumettre un bref résumé de leur parcours académique (75 à 100 mots).

Les candidat(e)s au poste de Président(e) devront également soumettre une déclaration d’intention ne dépassant pas 100 mots.

Ces documents seront diffusés aux membres avec le bulletin de vote, conformément à l’article V.1.b des Statuts de l’ACEI.

5. Procédure de vote

Tous les membres en règle au cours de l’année civile précédant les élections et au moment du début du processus de candidature sont habilités à voter.

Chaque membre dispose d’une seule voix; le vote par procuration n’est pas autorisé.

En cas d’égalité dans les résultats finaux, le nombre total de voix obtenues et le nombre de mises en candidature reçues seront additionnés; le/la candidat(e) ayant le total le plus élevé sera élu(e).

Si l’égalité persiste, la décision sera prise par le/la Président(e), le/la Vice-président(e) et le Secrétaire au moyen d’un vote interne.

Les résultats des élections seront communiqués aux candidat(e)s et présentés lors de l’Assemblée générale annuelle (AGM).

6. Échéances et soumission des candidatures

Les candidatures doivent être envoyées par courrier électronique au Secrétaire de l’ACSI à l’adresse sau.andrea@gmail.com. Les échéances officielles sont les suivantes:

Date limite de soumission des candidatures: 15 février 2026
Date limite pour le vote: 15 mars 2026

Annonce officielle des résultats : lors de l’Assemblée générale annuelle (AGM) tenue dans le cadre de la conférence de Vancouver (mai 2026), ainsi que par l’intermédiaire des canaux officiels de l’Association (infolettre, Facebook et Instagram).

Toutes les dates peuvent être modifiées par le Comité exécutif en cas de circonstances imprévues.
