About


The CAIS 2026 conference is a meeting point for all scholars of Italian Studies.


While the conference welcomes submissions on all aspects of Italian Studies, we particularly encourage proposals that address contemporary developments in Italian culture and in higher education. Core themes continue to remain pedagogy, applied linguistics, culture, literature, cinema, theatre, Italian as a second or as a foreign, Italian history, economy, migration and the arts. Language.




Important Dates:


January 26, 2026 Deadline to submit session proposals
February 15, 2026 Deadline for session organizers to submit completed proposal forms
March 31, 2026 Deadline to register for conference
March 31, 2026 Deadline to ensure valid CAIS membership to participate in conference




Where


The conference will be held in a hybrid format, with Zoom sessions and with in-person attendance at the University of British Columbia (UBC).

  • The first two days of the conference (Monday, May 4th and Tuesday, May 5th) will be held online.
  • The next two days (Wednesday, May 6th and Thursday, May 7th) will be held fully in person.
